Shirley Carta

 

Shirley studied Fine Arts at The University of Connecticut.  She has worked in many mediums, including Water Color, and found Oils to be her medium of choice.   

 

Shirley also owned her own business, SILKWORM, a woman's boutique in Essex, CT for over 25 years.  Here, she infused her creative ability and inspiration toward a new canvas, the woman's closet.  She cultivated a keen eye for woman's clothing and the female form.  

 

Her work has been dispayed in Essex, CT at The Essex Art Association, which she is a member of.  Her work has also been displayed at The Brick Gallery.    Shirley's work has been Jurored.  Two of her canvas's displayed on her website have won a Juror Award for Excellence.  

 

Shirley lives in Del Mar, CA and continues to do commissions, teach and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
